Timothy Hudson graduated from Indiana University, the New England Conservatory of Music and UNC Greensboro, where he studied with Ed Cord, Charles Schlueter and Fred Beck. As an artist/educator, Tim has performed throughout the US, Mexico, England, New Zealand, the Far East and Israel, with conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Yoel Levi, Mariss Jansons, Leonard Slatkin and Enrique Batiz. Tim recorded a PBS Special and performed with the Canadian Brass/Canterbury Brass/Star of Indiana and has recorded for Summit Records, Academy Sound and Vision, Ltd. (London), OSEM (Mexico), Mode Records (NY), Mark Records (NY), Mellencamp and Associates Group of the Navarre Corp. (IN) and IBA (Israel) labels. Tim has held the Principal Trumpet position with the Knoxville Symphony, State of Mexico Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra of Northern New York. He is a former member of the International Orchestra (Israel), New England Chamber Orchestra and Camerata Chamber Orchestra (IN), has played with other orchestras such as the Oslo Philharmonic, Fort Wayne Philharmonic (IN), and plays frequently with the North Carolina Symphony. Tim began teaching college at age 25 for the Crane School of Music, State University of NY at Potsdam and received the "1991-1992 Most Outstanding Faculty Member Award" for the school. He is formerly Associate Instructor of Trumpet at Indiana University, taught at the State of Mexico Conservatory of Music, and has also been on the faculty at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, Tunghai University in Taichung, Taiwan, The NC School of the Arts and UNC-Chapel Hill. For nine summers, Tim was on the faculty of the New England Music Camp in Maine. Currently, Tim is the orchestra conductor at High Point University and Professor of Trumpet at Gardner-Webb University. Tim regularly publishes articles, is an arranger, an adjudicator for the National Trumpet Competition, and a Record Reviewer for the International Trumpet Guild Journal. He is a founding member and Director of Carolina Brass.
